About

I want to introduce us to each other:

I created Grounded in Motion because I believe women’s lives are worth paying attention to. Women are smart, collaborative, hilarious, capable and clever. I want to tell their stories, learn from them, celebrate them, and give us a place to recognize something of ourselves in one another.

The transitions in our lives can be messy, chaotic and uncertain. But when we reflect on them—especially together—we can find meaning, humor and perspective in what we’ve been through, while staying curious about what might come next.

Movement has carried me through much of my life. Moving our bodies can bring refuge and peace when everything around us feels chaotic. And sometimes, as our bodies open, our hearts and minds do too.

I’ve spent much of my life in rooms with women, and I’ve watched them get one another through things. They notice. They improvise. They collaborate. They know when to make you laugh, when to tell you the truth, and often when something is wrong before you’ve said a word. There is a kind of brilliance in that—and, I remain convinced, a little bit of witchcraft.

Maybe that’s what we can give one another here: the reminder that we aren’t alone. Someone else has been there too. None of us has all the answers. We’re still moving.

Come on in. The dance is already happening.

Enter where you are.
